In our Wholesale Broking and Outplacement department, our goal is simple - we help our 300 Branches to win and retain more customers by broking into the wider insurance market to support a specific need in their insurance programme. In the past 5 years the department has grown by over 300% and today we are a team of 60 which will continue to grow, as will your role, your experience and your career!
In 2021, we saw 28% growth and we are now looking to recruit a Business Development Consultant to cover the North East Region. Joining a close-knit team, we work collaboratively with each other and other departments within the wider business including Underwriting, Marketing, Regional Sales, Governance, Risk Management Services, Corporate Business and our Branch Managers to ensure the effective delivery of objectives.
As a Business Development consultant your role is a key part in the wider team’s success and will offer fantastic variety. Based from home, spending approximately three days of the week out in the field, you will support the North East region to deliver maximum target market penetration by effective alignment of product, services and pricing to meet customer need and differentiate NFUM in the market.
And with over 50 different insurance products including D&O, Cyber, PI, Complex Casualty to Marine Hull & Animal Disease, your knowledge and support is essential.

Highly self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude, you use your stakeholder influencing skills and General Insurance knowledge to lead Agents toward successful outcomes including acquisition of customers.
