About the role

Join our Properties Department as a Business Services Supervisor and you will lead a team who deliver first-class business support services for NFU Mutual (comprising of our post room, printing, scanning and managed storage document archive services).

This is a key position within Properties where you will manage a team (8 reports) across multiple functions and sites, ensuring they have the right coaching, training, and resources to achieve success. You will be adept at monitoring and reporting on performance, analysing trends and spotting opportunities for continuous improvement.

Duties will include:

  • Lead, manage and develop direct reports so that they can maximise their contribution and realise their potential.

  • Plan, develop and oversee the delivery of first-class business services, allocating and monitoring activity and objectives.

  • Control, manage and administer the requirements for Health and Safety, Security, and Welfare for the team, employees & visitors and to ensure our legal obligations are met.

  • Oversee, monitor and authorise requisitions, purchases and the reconciliation of charges.

  • Identify & evaluate potential solutions or requirements with Third-party Suppliers to ensure maintenance provisions meet our business needs and minimise down time.

  • Make recommendations and monitor performance in line with SLAs

  • Regular reporting on business unit performance and activity.

  • Oversee and lead investigations in relation to queries or complaints through to a satisfactory conclusion and manage associated risks.

What we're looking for

The successful candidate will have experience/strengths in the following:

  • Supervision/Management of a small team

  • Experience of Business Services (such as post room, secure documentation archiving, reprographics or printing services).

  • Customer management/service (handling queries, investigations and resolving conflicts)

  • Organisational skills

  • Risk assessments and introducing procedures to reduce/remove occurrences

  • Interpersonal skills (ability to communicate across all levels)

  • Experience in a “hands-on” Supervisory role.
