About the role

Giving back to the community and supporting individuals with additional needs is something very important to us at NFU Mutual.

In 2020, we made exciting changes to our community support. This included the creation of an Agency Giving Fund to sit alongside fundraising initiatives by NFU Mutual staff through our Community Giving Fund.  The Agency Giving fund provided emergency relief during the Pandemic for frontline charities nominated by our Agents in over 300 offices across the UK.

In 2021, we pledged £2.75 million in charitable donations to support and help build resilience in our communities. The Agency Giving Fund successfully distributed £2million to local charities in 16 weeks and an additional £750,000 was donated to the NFU Mutual Charitable Trust to support national organisations.

Our Community Giving programme forms part of our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy and is something we are very proud to continue. As such, we are looking to appoint a full time, permanent Charitable Giving Administrator to support with the administration and coordination of the funding distribution. Reporting to the Corporate Reputation & Communications Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering the overall Charitable Giving plan.

Duties include:

  • Undertake all administration work for the Agency Giving Fund and Community Giving Fund to ensure the smooth operation of both funds.

  • Complete designated Charitable Trust related activities, co-ordinating with all parties and supporting the promotion of the Trust and its schemes, including the Centenary Awards programme.

  • Support the Reputation team in communicating the benefits of volunteering activities, by gathering information and directing and responding to enquiries, to increase awareness of the skills applied and impact generated in our communities.

  • Compile and manage a suite of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) related assets and produce collateral to support integrated campaigns and press activity.

  • Administer the ‘Pennies from Heaven’ payroll giving scheme and promote the scheme to new and existing employees, to remind and thank staff and encourage participation and continued support.

  • Monitor internal and external community support enquiries, including the ‘Doing our Bit’ mailbox, to ensure a timely response is provided.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Solid experience successfully working with Microsoft Office packages

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Experience of delivering exceptional customer service

  • A real self-starter who is motivated, ambitious and passionate about charitable giving and community support
