Claims Intelligence Researcher


  • Be a vital part of identifying, researching and reducing insurance fraud via intelligence resources

About the role

As part of the Intelligence team, you’ll proactively use intelligence research methods and the Group Counter Fraud System (GCFS) to support the Claims Validation Intelligence Team and Handlers to tackle claims fraud. We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our team on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.


You’ll gather, assess, disseminate and report on intelligence from the Group Counter Fraud System and non-GCFS system sources in order to enhance suspicious claims investigations.


Reviewing and evaluating information from a wide range of open and closed information sources will enable you to produce accurate and easy to use reports to assist in the proactive and reactive identification of fraud threats.


You’ll conduct tasked Intelligence gathering and produce reports on suspicious claims and claimer profiling as well as proactively contribute and assist in the development of intelligence reports and services to ensure a market leading intelligence provision.


Maintaining effective relationships with counter fraud colleagues and business areas is crucial to ensure the effective delivery of objectives and to provide guidance to the Claims Validation teams to guarantee compliance in the storing of and handling of National Intelligence Model graded intelligence whilst adhering to Data Protection legislation and the NFU Mutual Information Compliance Policy.


This role is based in our Bristol Regional Service Centre. However, we understand how important a positive work-life balance is, so to help you give your best, we offer great facilities when you want to be in an office environment and support to work up to 80% of your hours from home.  

About you

You demonstrate recent experience within either claims or intelligence/counter fraud, handling suspicious activities and researching and reporting on sensitive information. You have worked within a customer facing position and are confident using Microsoft Excel and working in a team environment. Your strong analytical and research skills are highly transferable from your previous experience. You’ll also have



  • Experience with Power BI and/or other database management (desirable)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent critical thinking
