About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Financial Reporting and Controls division for a Finance Regulatory Compliance Manager to lead a small specialist team responsible for compliance oversight and managing and controlling regulatory compliance data within NFU Mutual and our third-party administrators.

The team produce returns to comply with regulatory and internal reporting requirements as well as providing technical compliance insight to the Board to help guide business decisions and safeguard both our customer’s and our own assets.

This role will draw upon draw your knowledge of regulations (especially CASS), upon your problem-solving skills, and upon your ability to champion best practice in compliance and risk across the business.

There will also be opportunities to get involved in project activities to support with continuous improvement and change within the function.

Duties will include:

  • Develop and monitor processes, systems, and controls within NFUM and its third-party administrators to manage and mitigate regulatory compliance risks efficiently and safeguard NFUM's and Customer’s assets

  • Maintain and review comprehensive compliance controls, data, and reports to meet both regulatory requirements and internal reporting needs.

  • Guide and advise on regulatory compliance strategy to enable us to make fully informed decisions.

  • Anticipate and assess the compliance impact of legal and regulatory.

  • Build effective relations with regulatory and professional bodies to protect our reputation and ensure it is appropriately represented within the industry.

  • Plan, forecast and monitor capital funding resource requirements through internal and external reporting.

  • Lead direct reports so that they achieve objectives and realise their full potential

What we're looking for

  • Expert knowledge of compliance principles and practices within the financial sector (especially CASS).

  • Experience managing business controls and regulatory/statutory requirements.

  • Experience problem solving and adapting to change.

  • Expert knowledge of business and compliance systems.

  • Strong communication skills (ability to explain complex compliance information in written and verbal form to compliance and non-compliance audiences).

  • Whilst it is not essential to be a qualified accountant you will have a relevant professional financial industry qualification such as CISI (member level or above), CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent.

Our team is located in Stratford-upon-Avon and it would be expected that on average, 50% of your working time would be located from this office, with the remaining days home based should you wish. Due to COVID-19, our employees continue to work from home and a return to the office is being planned for later in the year.
