About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior PMO Analyst to join our IT Division here at NFUM Mutual. Reporting to the IT Infrastructure PMO Manager, these roles will support delivery across our 3 IT Change Programmes, tracking & reporting on progress across multiple complex IT projects, providing governance oversight and contributing to improvements in our ways of working. Our ‘Keep the Lights On’ Programme is designed to ensure our technology remains current and relevant, our Cyber Security Programme ensures we keep ahead of threats and vulnerabilities and our Technology Change Programme enables the business to invest in tactical IT change. The total programme spend is circa £12m per year.
The Senior PMO Analyst will establish and provide SME PMO insight across our programmes to support the effective delivery of multiple complex IT projects. In this role you will proactively act as an advocate for the PMO and call upon past experience to lead improvements to the PMO Service and Delivery Framework.
Your initial focus will be to work with the Technology Change Programme Manager to set up the PMO Capability for the programme and provide SME knowledge on PMO best practice. Some key accountabilities will include:

  • Promote, develop, provide guidance and consultancy on and ensure adherence to the IT Delivery Change and Governance Framework so that our change portfolio is protected against risk, activities are aligned, and best practice is promoted

  • Analyse, interpret and provide insight on our programmes and projects utilising Project Online to provide status updates, track progress and provide a consistent and accurate view of delivery

  • Establish and run project and programme level finance and resource tracking, feeding into portfolio level activity as required

  • Conduct, report and provide insight through project stage gates and programme ‘health checks’, engaging with relevant stakeholders to address findings and ensure adherence to the delivery framework, controls and standards

  • Proactively provide our programmes and projects with specialist skills in planning, estimating, budget and resource management

  • Engage with third party suppliers in delivery of change and to drive ongoing improvements in joint ways of working

  • Mentor, coach and train others in the IT delivery framework and associated practices to ensure that knowledge and skills increase within the NFUM change community

About you

As our Senior PMO Analyst, you will have significant PMO experience in complex IT projects and Programmes, taking personal responsibility and holding others accountable for delivering to agreed standards. You will be able to engage and communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels, lead improvements to ways of working and upskill & coach colleagues in PMO best practice. You’ll be or have:

  • Experience of taking the lead as PMO for significant transformation projects going through the entire project lifecycle

  • Demonstrable experience of Project & Programme Management and methodologies

  • Worked with a diverse range of departments and internal and external suppliers

  • Demonstrable commercial acumen, including budget management, invoicing, accruals, and financial estimates

  • Demonstrable experience of implementing improvements to ways of working within a project/programme environment

  • Qualifications- P3O (Portfolio, Programme and Projects Offices) and PRINCE2 (or equivalent) are essential (or willingness to work towards)

  • Experience of using a PPM tool is desirable

Our team is located in Stratford-upon-Avon and it would be expected that on average, 50% of your working time would be located from this office, with the remaining days home based should you wish. Due to COVID-19, our employees continue to work from home and a return to the office is being planned for later in the year
