About the role

We are looking to appoint an IT Vendor Manager for a 2 year fixed term contract to manage the Applications vendors within Group IT as well as two large Strategic vendors.  The role will involve the day to day Vendor Management for the strategic App providers within IT as well as negotiating new key terms for several large software renewals with our large strategic IT vendors.

What we're looking for

In this role you be responsible for:

  • Day to day management and oversight to ensure all NFUM third party policies are being adhered to for the vendors in scope.

  • Negotiating and agreeing Terms and Conditions and contractual obligations for service schedules and Project quotes.

  • Being the lead negotiator supporting other IT colleagues with several large software renewals that are due. This will mean reviewing and finalising all associated commercials as well as ensuring renewal contracts are in place and adhere to NFUM legal policies.

  • Reviewing, monitoring, updating and enforcing contracted obligations to ensure they are clear, relevant, accurate, up to date and delivered effectively.

  • Building, maintaining and developing relationships with IT suppliers and business stakeholders.

  • Advising, guiding and instructing business stakeholders and suppliers on IT supply solutions to ensure the contractual implications are fully considered, mitigate risk and improve commercial awareness and outcomes.

  • Contributing to the definition and delivery of an  IT supplier strategy.

  • Managing the associated budgets to ensure value for money and tight governance.

  • Significant successful experience of negotiating and managing contract life cycles at a senior level within a technology and/or outsourced IT service agreements.

In this role you'll have;

  • Strong Contract management and negotiation experience in the Applications and software arena.

  • Deep market knowledge in two or more IT categories, including applications management, , software, service and communication with a broad knowledge across all IT categories;

  • Demonstrable experience of effective stakeholder and relationship management at senior level as well as with multiple vendors, legal and procurement functions.

  • Strong specialist knowledge of procurement and vendor management practices, supplier certifications, contracting trends, licensing models and traditional and emerging contract and vendor performance models.

  • Proven track record of managing large fixed and variable budgets. 

  • 5 GCSE's at Grade C or above to include Maths and English.

  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v3 Foundation.

  • A Project Management Qualification, Prince2 Practitioner is preferred.
