About the role

We are now recruiting for a Junior Buyer/ Administrator (known as a Buyer within the business), to join our Procurement division here at NFU Mutual.

There are fantastic opportunities in our team to gain experience in procurement and receive excellent support and training.

As a Junior Buyer/ Administrator, you will support the supplier selection and supplier management process, you will provide advice to ensure we deliver an effective procurement service, and your activity will help us deliver the best commercial terms for NFU Mutual, mitigate risk, and help us to meet our business objectives.

You will gain exposure to all aspects of procurement, from reviewing the detail in tender documents, analysing spending trends, conducting market insight research, supporting the Senior Buyers with due diligence/compliance/legal actions, and you will get the chance to case manage certain tenders.

Whilst it is not essential to be CIPS qualified we will support your qualification should you wish to pursue it.

What we're looking for

You will be passionate about a career in procurement, keen to learn and committed to your continued professional development.

You will be the type of person who has commercial awareness, analysis, negotiation and strong relationship skills- as well as a keen eye for detail.

You will also have:

  • Experience in business, financial or procurement administration (ideally)

  • Some procurement experience or knowledge of procurement processes and contractual Terms and Conditions (ideally)

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Well organised with great customer service and admin skills

  • Strong relationship skills and experience of managing stakeholders and suppliers

  • Strong use Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel

NFU Mutual are happy to offer its employees informal homeworking. Our team is located in Stratford-upon-Avon and it would be expected that on average, 50% of your working time would be located from this office, with the remaining days home based should you wish.
