About the role

Here at NFU Mutual, we are about to deliver one of our biggest transformation programmes yet. Our BRIDGE programme will transform our approach to sales, policy administration and underwriting activities, delivering excellent customer experience across our end to end processes. A key part of this change will include the introduction of a new platform to host a refreshed product range.

We now have a great opportunity for an experienced and innovative Learning Experience Designer to join the Learning and Development team within the BRIDGE programme. This will initially be on an 18-month fixed term / secondment basis.
The main purpose of the role is to provide a best in class learning consultancy service that includes the facilitation of discovery workshops and development of learning prototypes, to establish desired business outcomes and measures. You must be within a commutable distance to our Stratford Upon Avon office in order to be able to immerse yourself in the fast-paced programme activity. Some key accountabilities will include:

  • Recommend and agree learning and development solutions in consultation/partnership with internal L&OD colleagues and their business areas to support the effective delivery of business objectives, that can be measured against Return on Investment/Return on Equity (ROI/ROE)

  • Design engaging, high-quality and easy to access blended learning solutions in line with department strategy and in collaboration with business subject matter experts utilising learning technologies and social learning strategies to meet the business objectives, and ROE/ROI goals.

  • Plan, design, communicate and monitor the development and delivery of agreed learning solutions and activities that effectively meet business deliverables, timescales and agreed learning and development objectives.

  • Work with subject matter experts to understand the learning content / requirements and use instructional design principles to script, storyboard and oversee deployment of effective blended learning solutions to enable colleagues and external suppliers to develop learning solutions that are fit for purpose

  • Review and update the design of learning solutions in partnership with L&OD colleagues and in line with the department review cycle, ensuring the learning solution remains market leading, innovative, accurate, up-to-date and meet business and regulatory requirements

What we are looking for

As one of our Learning Experience Designer’s, you will help to establish an effective and innovative learning solution, using design thinking- that is aligned with L&OD strategy and wider business requirements. You will have strong communication skills- being able to build relationships at all levels and be effective. You will also be or have:

  • Certificate in Learning and Development (CIPD or equivalent)

  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification (preferred)

  • Working knowledge and experience of using Digital Adoption Solutions (preferred)

  • Experience of working on larger Change Programmes (preferred)

  • Knowledge of design thinking approach to learning – for example action mapping

  • Proven ability to build strong, influential relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including those at a senior level

  • Experience of designing, delivering and evaluating modern learning solutions and content, including online / e-learning modules, instructor-led materials, job aids, online tutorials, and ideally multimedia products (video, graphic, audio) and / or other training materials

  • Commercial Awareness

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to create storyboards and scripts in partnership with SME’s

  • Knowledge of emerging technology trends for content creation (e.g. web-based Learning Platforms, Social Learning, Gamification, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality)
