Locum Branch Manager - North East


  • Up to £43,000 + up to 17.5% bonus + company car + great benefits

About the role

Due to an internal promotion we currently have a great opportunity for someone who can be mobile across the North East region in a varied and interesting permanent Regional Sales position, to cover periods of absence (an average placement is for 6-9-months) within our Branch Network, know internally as Agencies.


Our Agents have full autonomy for running their office, they lead and coach their team and champion the face to face, personalised high calibre service we provide to our customers. They sell and service a wide range of insurance products, in accordance with strict regulatory and compliance controls.


Your role as a Locum Agency Manager will be to step into their shoes when required, and provide proactive, responsive support in unexpected circumstances to keep driving the business forward.


As such, it's critical that you're a strong relationship builder and a flexible team leader, who can hit the ground running wherever you’re sent, selling our products, championing compliance and offering the first-class personal service we’re known for.


The role requires the individual to undertake a wide variety of tasks including leading the team, planning and delivering sales and marketing objectives, integrate and coach new agents providing them with the awareness and knowledge of the NFU Mutual culture and model, improving their capability to maximise business potential. And building effective working relationships with internal stakeholders across our Regional Sales teams, Service Centre and Head office.

About you

To be considered it is essential you have:



  • Worked within the insurance, banking, or financial services sector

  • Excellent customer facing skills, both from a service and sales background

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skill

  • A full driving license

  • Currently living (or happy to relocate, please indicate CV) in the North East and ability to travel across the region


You will be comfortable with change, have high levels of enthusiasm and self-motivation, as well as a desire to work through a thorough and detailed training programme. You will be encouraged to obtain CII Diploma/Advanced Diploma and Internal Licence within an agreed timescale if not already held. This role falls under the Insurance Distribution Directive. This means there is a requirement for Continuous Professional Development in role, in addition to ongoing screening checks once in post.
