On-Site Commercial Underwriter

Here at NFU Mutual, we are setting up a brand-new on-site underwriting team within our Regional Commercial Underwriting function.

As an On-Site Underwriter, you will provide dedicated support to NFU Mutual agencies within your designated region and will be responsible for underwriting a portfolio of commercial combined risks up to a gross written premium of £50K.

Using your technical expertise, you will negotiate on large commercial account reviews and connected portfolios, engaging with Subject Matter Experts when required to deliver compelling and market leading propositions to our customer.

You will work to maximise profitable growth opportunities by working collaboratively with the Agents to influence performance and support them in delivering excellent underwriting returns.

Additionally, you will advise and guide Agents on more complex risks to improve their technical knowledge and promote best practice in order to provide excellent service to our customers and maintain the highest of quality standards. You will analyse and monitor performance versus plan to highlight any trends and delivery of agreed actions.

This On-Site Underwriter position will cover a panel of NFU Mutual Agencies within the Midlands Region.

We are seeking a dynamic insurance professional with extensive commercial underwriting experience. You will boast a track record of managing more complex and technical cases across a range of commercial insurance products and will be able to demonstrate your ability to effectively coach and guide others.

This is an exciting new role within the business which will offer you an opportunity to really shape the role, relationships with Agents and ways of working. It’s therefore important that you possess exceptional communication skills with proven experience of building effective and lasting working relationships, with the confidence to challenge and influence.
