About the role

Based at our impressive Head Office in Stratford-Upon-Avon, our Pricing Department is a rapidly expanding function which focuses on delivering long term value for our customers rather than working to short-term profit targets. Following substantial investment in technology and with the contribution of a 70 strong team with a diverse skill set, the department is shaping to be a cutting-edge hub of expertise with ambitious growth plans. 


An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Pricing Analyst to become part of our successful team. As we cover commercial, personal and motor lines of business, this role will give you the chance to get involved with various pricing exercises covering everything from large commercial risk to pet insurance thus enabling you to broaden your skills and enrich your knowledge.


In addition, we offer a structured development framework with a defined career path for progression which includes regular 6 monthly reviews. You will benefit from day-to-day training on the desk and from a variety of formal training courses, and your Manager will work with you to create a clear plan of action, so you always know what you need to do to reach your next milestone.


You will be involved with a broad range of pricing activities including:



  • Working with other Pricing teams to build new pricing solutions from the ground up

  • Refining technical prices to optimise new business and renewal performance

  • Modelling the outcome of price changes at product, channel and customer level, to understand the impact on income, profitability and customer fairness measures

  • Preparing financial forecasts based on insight and trend analysis of key pricing metrics

  • Effectively communicating the results of complex pricing analyses to internal stakeholders and Pricing committees

  • Supporting colleagues within your team and other Pricing teams with project work, developing and applying internal processes and responding to pricing queries from the wider business.

What we're looking for

We are seeking a diligent and analytical professional with prior pricing experience gained ideally within the general insurance industry, however applications are also welcomed from candidates with a wider financial services background. We are also happy to hear from those with general insurance experience gained in a different statistical and/or analytical role.


The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong commercial acumen and a keen interest in driving business performance. You will have an understanding of how pricing interacts with other company functions and the important role it plays in achieving excellent business results.


You will also have a solid technical foundation to include numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills and an impeccable attention to detail. The role would be best suited to a professional with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills who has the ability to efficiently convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
