Sales Advisor

Salary: to £25,000 depending on experience
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
Holidays: 25 days + bank holidays
Location: Buckingham

This Sales Advisor role in our Buckingham branch offers you the first step into an insurance sales career with excellent long-term progression. A truly varied role you’ll focus on all aspects of sales, from publicity and advertising to attending shows and events where you’ll promote the NFU Mutual brand.

As part of our thriving and vibrant team you’ll ccontributee to the effective and efficient running of the branch. Your day to day tasks will be to generate and manage new customers for our Life business and help us deliver profitable growth through sales of our General Insurance and Risk Management products.

As Sales Advisor you’ll focus on bringing your personality to the role and establishing long term, effective relationships with new and existing customers. We’re all about warm personalities, quality conversations and a customer-first attitude, so you’ll be expected to rigorously evaluate customer’s financial information before recommending products and services that meet their needs.

You’ll also have plenty of opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills to ensure you sell professionally and compliantly. Always delivering a consistently good experience to customers you’ll meet the requirements and standards of NFUM, the T&C scheme and our regulators.

This role falls under the Insurance Distribution Directive. This means there is a requirement for Continuous Professional Development in role, in addition to ongoing screening checks once in post.

About you

Passionate about winning new business, you can demonstrate how you’ve achieved success in sales whilst also providing the highest levels of customer service. Enthusiastic, with recent telephone-based sales experience, you bring an approachable style to building relationships with customers and colleagues alike. A background in Insurance or Financial Services is desirable but not a necessity, but it is essential that you have the following: 


  • Successful sales experience within a customer-focused environment

  • Ability to generate and develop new and existing business

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

A minimum of 5 GCSEs A-C, or equivalent, including Maths and English.
