Apply nowWe have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to lead one of our Personal Lines Underwriting teams from our Regional Service Centre in York.
Our Personal Lines Underwriters operate within a fast-paced environment, dealing with referrals from our NFU Mutual Agents across a range of workstreams, including telephony and live chat.
The role will require you to manage your team, ensuring they are motivated and coached to achieve their set targets and objectives to meet service levels. Where areas are identified for development you will manage their training and development to ensure they are able to develop their skills.
You will spend some of your time planning with other people managers on a weekly, monthly and annual basis to provide an efficient and timely service for the region.
You will also manage the team through any change and ensure implementation of procedural and process changes are made where needed. In addition, you may be required to deputise for the Department Manager on occasion.
In order to fulfil this role effectively, you will have recent experience of operationally managing a team as well as a 'can do' attitude with the ability and experience of influencing and implementing change.
Your proven people management skills will show that you are adept at motivating staff and driving performance through well-developed communication and coaching skills with the commitment to training and development.
You will also need to show a high level of personal and team organisation and a commitment to continuous improvement of productivity, quality and efficiency, leading to improved service for our customers.
Previous experience operating within insurance would be advantageous, but not essential.
