I was drawn to NFU Mutual because it’s one of the UK’s top insurers with a strong reputation for supporting both customers and employees, and the graduate scheme offered excellent development opportunities.

How does the graduate scheme work?
I’m on the HR graduate scheme, which has given me the chance to work across a variety of teams including HR Services, Reward, and Employee Relations, building a broad foundation of HR experience.

How are you supported in your role?
Alongside working towards my CIPD Level 3 diploma, I’ve taken part in workshops such as ‘Presentation Skills’, which I’ve been able to apply directly in my role.

What has been your proudest moment so far?
My biggest achievement has been contributing to process improvements on projects on various occasions; for example, introducing changes that saved the team significant time, improving efficiency.

What advice would you have for someone starting out?
Use examples from your own experiences to demonstrate your skills, and don’t be afraid to let your personality and motivation come through.

How did you find the onboarding experience?
My onboarding was really positive - I felt welcomed straight away by a friendly division, had the opportunity to meet senior leaders, and enjoyed induction week, which allowed me to connect with the rest of the graduates.

What is your current role?
I’m currently part of the Employee Engagement team, where I’ve been involved in our annual employee engagement survey, working with stakeholders across the business.
