What first attracted you to NFU Mutual?
I chose NFU Mutual because of the positive feedback I’d heard from colleagues who had worked there, and what I saw during my own research. What really stood out to me was that the company is values-based and genuinely cares about employee wellbeing. It offers strong benefits and support for career and professional development. Career growth is something I prioritise and seeing that NFU Mutual offered a graduate scheme that supports both technical skills and broader development was a big plus. That impression was fully confirmed during my 2024 summer internship at NFU Mutual. It gave me first-hand experience of everything I had researched and heard about. Ultimately, it cemented my decision to apply for the NFU Mutual graduate scheme as my next step.
How does the graduate scheme work?
I’m on the Internal Audit Graduate Scheme. The three-year scheme offers support and development in both technical areas and broader skills, helping graduates become confident, skilled, and qualified internal auditors. This will include working alongside experienced professionals and learning the full audit process. Over time, this builds the knowledge and skills required to carry out audits independently.
What do you like best about your job?
This scheme also includes workshops for trainees. Within my first year, these covered areas like presenting, coaching and personal insights. They help us learn new skills and further strengthen existing ones to support our day-to-day activities

What has been your proudest moment so far?
Seeing real growth in my confidence. This has helped me build a strong network, take on new opportunities, and support others. It has made a huge difference in how I approach tasks and contribute to the wider team on a day-to-day basis.

Be confident. Prepare well. Be yourself.
