Our key roles

Administrative Support

From Pensions Administrators to Customer Support Administrators, our teams support departments across the business. Join us and you could be involved in anything from collating data for monthly reports and processing IT requests to organising events.

You could even be involved in supporting specific projects in your department, ensuring they run as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Whatever team you join, you’ll use your ability to multi-task, attention to detail and collaborative approach to provide essential support.

Personal Assistants

As part of our team of PAs, you’ll be supporting one of our senior managers with key secretarial and administrative tasks. This could involve managing diaries, arranging meetings and events, and planning travel and accommodation. You may even be authorising purchases and holiday requests, ordering office supplies or coordinating budgets.

With regular contact with people inside and outside the business, you’ll need to be an excellent communicator and organiser, with the ability to act on your own initiative and adapt quickly to change.

What you could be working on

Join our Administration team and you could be supporting any area of the business and ensuring everything runs smoothly. This could include:

Meet some of the team

Cate Poolton, Contractor Co-ordinator

NFU Mutual’s like a family – everyone’s there for each other and very welcoming. I hadn’t worked in HR or recruitment before, but my team and manager encouraged me to work with different people to gain knowledge – nothing was ever too much trouble.

The business really does look after its people. You feel valued, listened to and part of the bigger picture. For example, I started working part time hours to suit my personal life. Once my manager and I were happy with how it was working, I increased my hours to suit my work:life balance. It was very much led by me, with full support from the business.

Helen Jacynicz-Hunt, Personal Assistant

I joined NFU Mutual in 1999 and I’ve always felt supported by my manager and the whole team. The people I work with are like my ‘work family’ - everyone’s friendly and helpful. This has helped my confidence grow throughout the years, which in turn has improved my own performance.

If I felt I needed help, for example with IT skills or personal development, then my manager has always been happy for me to get the relevant training. Or if I work over my hours, this is always recognised. Welfare always seems to be the first priority of working for NFU Mutual.

Tegan Johnson, Claims Management Secretary

I’d heard about how well NFU Mutual looked after their staff, so when I moved to the area in 2019, I decided to apply. I soon realised that NFU Mutual take progression very seriously and want the best for their people.

My team were very professional and supportive. They gave me great training from the start and organised meetings with different people across the Claims department and the wider business so I could understand how Claims helps NFU Mutual to progress. They look after you, too - when you’ve put extra time in, they always acknowledge this and ensure it doesn’t affect your home life.

Sally Gilder, Life Services Administrator

I was working part-time in a farm shop to fund my training to compete for the Great Britain archery team. But I wanted a full-time role, so I applied to NFU Mutual because they were a respected local employer. It was a complete change for me, because I had no sector experience, but I was welcomed with open arms.

Since I joined in April 2018 I’ve received constant support. The company’s supported me in taking CII exams - and the flexible working hours mean I can still train and compete in archery, even though I don’t train with the GB team any more.
