People Insights and Projects Team

We drive the People Strategy using data, insights, projects, and systems to enable informed, people-focused decisions. We own and deliver the HR Technology Roadmap, ensuring a seamless user experience. By managing HR’s change portfolio and leading continuous improvement, we help shape a high-performing, forward-thinking HR function - supporting the Group’s ambition to be a Great Place to Work.

HR Strategic Partnering and Change Team

We collaborate with business leaders to align people strategies with organisational goals. We design and deliver tailored HR initiatives, providing expertise in organisational design, workforce planning, and both bespoke and cyclical activities. By offering sustainable people and learning solutions, we help the business navigate change, build capability, and drive long-term success - ensuring that HR continues to be a strategic partner in NFU Mutual’s growth and resilience.

Learning Design and Delivery Team

By designing and delivering high-quality, blended learning solutions we enhance the learning experience across NFU Mutual, our Regional Service Centres and the NFU Mutual Agency Network. From early careers to technical knowledge, through to leadership programmes, we create tailored content delivered through multiple channels which all help build capability and drive performance across the business.

HR Service Delivery Team

We ensure efficient, high-quality HR services across NFU Mutual. Our Service Layer supports all employees, managers, candidates, and third parties through centralised query management. At the same time, our Operations team handles key transactional tasks like contracts, data input, screening, and learning deployment. We also lead on Governance and Vendor Management, Payroll, and Group Health and Safety - maximising HR’s capabilities and supporting a smooth, consistent experience for all our customers.

Talent Acquisition Team

We’re shaping a workforce that drives our future success by attracting and hiring top talent aligned with workforce needs. We deliver an inclusive, high-quality candidate experience, exceeding industry standards through a customer-focused approach. By connecting diverse talent with opportunities, we fuel innovation and excellence - helping NFU Mutual maintain its reputation as a Great Place to Work and a Great Company to Do Business With.

Talent, Leadership and Employee Experience Team

We are a strategic centre of excellence, shaping and delivering an integrated Talent, Leadership, and Employee Experience strategy that supports NFU Mutual’s long-term growth and strategy. Our remit spans talent identification and development, performance, succession, leadership, culture, wellbeing, engagement, diversity & inclusion, and future skills. We lead the design and implementation of scalable frameworks that ensures alignment across the employee lifecycle, from early careers to executive succession, fostering a culture of growth, inclusion, and high performance. Through a holistic and future-focused approach, we connect people related strategy with business priorities, empowering individuals and teams to thrive in a changing world of work.

Reward and Benefits Team

Developing your career

Whatever your background, we’ll give you all the training you need for your role. This means we might support you in gaining a relevant professional qualification in HR (CIPD), employment law, data skills, project management, operational risk or financial services.

We also offer a range of internal training courses to boost your personal skills, such as resilience and effective influencing. You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to learn more about our business, with the chance to work closely with teams across NFU Mutual and gain a deeper understanding of how they work.

Sarah Godwin, HR Governance & Vendor Coordinator

I joined at the end of 2019 and this was my first HR role. It goes without saying that everybody I work with has been lovely and helpful, with incredibly supportive management. It would be easy to feel like just another number, but I don’t get a sense of that at all. No matter what your role, you’re encouraged to speak up with your own thoughts or concerns, because every opinion matters in making decisions and implementing improvements. To run a company that provides a world-class, personal customer service experience, the heads and hearts have to be in the right place. That’s exactly how it feels here.

I joined NFU Mutual in 2020, learning everything and getting to know my team remotely. This could of been a real challenge, but thanks to my amazing team, a supportive network of colleagues, and a robust induction, settling into my new role wasn’t difficult at all. Nearly six years on, I’ve developed so many skills, taken part in exciting change projects, and earned a promotion. What I love most about NFU Mutual is its genuinely caring, collaborative environment – being a mutual truly shines through in the culture here. I’m excited to see where my career journey at NFU Mutual will take me next.

Greg Marshall, People Data & Insights Manager

I joined NFU Mutual in 2018 as a graduate in Head Office Pricing, coming from a Chemistry and Physics background rather than insurance. I had a fantastic time working across different teams and products - from cars to tractors - alongside brilliant colleagues. After seven years, I took a less conventional path, moving into HR to lead the People Data and Insights team. While the analytics feel familiar, the subject matter is completely new. The transition has been incredibly rewarding, and I’d encourage anyone to explore cross-divisional opportunities - it’s not as scary as it seems!
