We’re delighted to announce that five women from the NFU Mutual Underwriting and Pricing teams have been shortlisted at this year’s Women in Insurance Awards.

Now in their fourth year, the Women in Insurance Awards is the premier awards event for showcasing the outstanding achievements of women in the general insurance market. The awards honour inspiring women across all sectors of the market at all levels and all disciplines.

The Women in Insurance Awards aim to improve equality by celebrating excellence and inspirational female role models from all parts of the insurance industry. They also offer a platform for companies shaping the discussion around how we can improve diversity within the sector as they offer a platform for applauding the most forward-thinking initiatives.

The five women from NFU Mutual have been shortlisted for the following awards:

Unsung Hero
Open to women, especially those in back office and non-consumer facing roles, who have gone above and beyond to contribute to their business, support a team or encourage diversity in the workplace.

- Alex Wiffen, Data Specialist, Pricing
- Alice Webb, Principal Analyst, Pricing

Underwriting Professional of the Year
Open to women working in an underwriting role

- Amy Bourne, Process Improvement Underwriter, Underwriting
- Jen Day, Farm Underwriting Manager, Underwriting

Most Inspiring Returner
For women who have returned to work in 2019 or 2020 following maternity leave or other career break and have acted as a role model to women looking to achieve the balance between work and family life.

- Michelle Mahiques-Pearce, Product Consultant, Pricing

The winners will be announced on the 11th October at an awards ceremony taking place in London.
