Financial Risk
Our Financial Risk team plays a pivotal role in keeping NFU Mutual financially strong and resilient, assessing and communicating key risks in a constantly evolving regulatory and economic environment. Through our Financial Risk Actuarial Internship, you’ll gain hands‑on experience from day one, contributing to real projects such as With‑Profits Business Management and Life Capital Management activities.
Throughout the eight‑week programme, you’ll work closely with experienced actuaries and analysts who will help you build your technical, analytical and communication skills, supported further by induction learning, networking events and development sessions.

Group Compliance

You’ll get involved in real regulatory and assurance activity, supporting projects that ensure we operate within the rules while delivering good customer outcomes. We’re offering a HR internship that gives individuals hands‑on experience from day one, working on meaningful projects that span several specialist teams, including Reward, Employee Experience, Employee Relations and People Insights. You’ll rotate across these areas to build a broad understanding of how data, technology and user‑centred design influence effective people strategy.
Throughout the placement, you’ll contribute to real business improvements such as analysing HR data, supporting process development, creating engaging project visuals and assisting work linked to new employment legislation and regulatory requirements. With support from a dedicated Placement Manager, a structured development programme and opportunities to engage with senior leaders, this internship provides a unique window into how HR drives organisational success, culminating in a final presentation that showcases their growth, insight and contribution.
HR Project Management
Our HR Projects team leads people‑focused change across NFU Mutual- improving processes, systems and the overall employee experience through structured project management, clear reporting and strong governance. We’re offering a Project Management internship that gives individuals hands‑on experience from day one, working on meaningful initiatives that strengthen how we plan, track and communicate change across the HR Division.
You’ll collaborate with project managers to support planning activity, monitor risks and issues, and contribute to progress reporting that feeds into evolving tools such as our redesigned Power BI dashboard. You’ll also help shape more joined‑up communication approaches, explore resource planning insights and contribute to work that enhances how we showcase project outcomes, benefits and early uses of automation and AI.
Throughout the placement, you’ll develop strong organisational, analytical and communication skills, gaining confidence in presenting information through clear, engaging visuals and discussions. We’re offering an Internal Audit internship that gives you hands‑on experience from day one, working on live audit assignments and gaining a strong understanding of how effective governance and risk management support a successful organisation.
You'll collaborate with colleagues across the business, build analytical and communication skills, and receive structured support from a programme manager and dedicated buddy. With high visibility across NFU Mutual, this eight-week placement offers a unique window into how our operations run and how key decisions are made.
IT
Our IT Summer Internship is designed to help you gain real‑world experience within our IT Division. Home to over 750 employees, 500 offshore partners and more than £80m of annual change projects, you'll step into a fast‑paced and innovative environment that underpins the smooth running of the entire business.
Throughout the programme, you'll work on real operational casework to help keep IT services running effectively for customers, staff, agencies and regional offices, while also supporting major IT change projects that introduce new systems and technologies across the organisation.
Alongside hands‑on project work, you'll have opportunity to collaborate with a wide range of teams, engage with stakeholders, and develop their technical understanding through structured IT training.
Marketing and Digital

Over an eight‑week placement in either Financial Services Marketing Campaigns, Responsible Business or Digital, you’ll support real projects that matter - from developing campaign content and analysing performance data to enhancing SEO, improving digital journeys and contributing to responsible business storytelling.
It’s a fast‑paced, collaborative environment where interns are trusted with meaningful responsibility, supported by a dedicated Placement Manager and wider team, and finish the programme with tangible work they can be proud to showcase.
Sales
Our South East Regional Team is offering an internship that will give you hands‑on experience supporting our ambitious growth strategy. You'll work directly with local Agencies, helping assess market potential, analyse trends and identify opportunities using real business data, as well as supporting prospecting and insight activities that drive informed decision‑making.
You'll also gain exposure to campaign planning by coordinating an incentive campaign from delivery through to measurement. Throughout the placement, you’ll build a solid understanding of our agency network and how our commercial operations run, giving them valuable insight and a strong foundation for future career development.
