Audit

The Group Internal Audit Department (GIAD) plays a key role in helping NFU Mutual protect its assets, reputation and sustainability as well as achieve its long-term goals.

In a nutshell, an audit involves working closely with our colleagues to get a detailed understanding of their business area, review what could go wrong and assess the steps they have taken to manage those risks. We also add further value through recommending improvements and best practice.

Join us as a Summer Intern for an opportunity to get stuck in with real responsibility and gain first-hand experience of working on audits and contributing to improving our department. Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll experience during your time with us:

  • Your internship will start with getting to know your new colleagues and fellow interns. You’ll also learn about our organisation and what makes us unique in the insurance space and what makes us a ‘great place to work’!
  • Get to know about our department and the way we do audits. You’ll then gain hands-on audit experience and take ownership for delivering high-quality work.
  • Working closely with colleagues to provide robust challenge and insights to help business areas meet their business objectives and continuously improve
  • This position offers high visibility and an opportunity to gain a broad and deep understanding of the organisations key operations and processes.
  • At the end of the programme, you’ll have gained a wide range of skills and experience which will support your learning and development back at university and when you return to the workplace.

Thank you for your interest. This programme is now closed for applications.

Customer Service Claims

The Customer Services Head Office department includes several core functions, each with a pivotal role to play in the setting and delivery of the claims strategy and the principles that underpin it.

The Technical team is responsible for setting the claims strategic direction and ensuring we have the right standards, processes and procedures to effectively manage the financial performance of all NFU Mutual claims. The Supply Chain team is responsible for the selection and effective management of our supply partners, including looking forward to needs of the future. Our Change, MI & Risk teams provide core services including the delivery of change, production of data and insights to monitor financial performance and forecasting, and also ensuring we have a strong control framework and comply with regulatory changes.

We also have an operational function where large loss and corporate claims are handled and relationships with corporate customers are managed. Each of the teams are filled with individuals possessing different strengths and skills and this makes the internship in Head Office a unique opportunity to gain first hand exposure to differing job types that may suit you.

Join us as a Customer Service Claims Intern and you will work on a project focused on researching a current claims hot topic, delivering an outcome that will deliver real business value. With an opportunity to face into each core area you will gain a solid understanding of the overall department and have an opportunity to build and develop core skills that will equip you in your career after university.
