We recently opened the doors at NFU Mutual’s Head Office to host a careers workshop for local sixth form students at Welcombe Hills School, with our Recruitment team kindly volunteering their professional skills. The event was organised as part of our employee volunteering programme through a collaboration with the charity ThinkForward.

Susanna Manise, Resourcing Manager at NFU Mutual, explained more: “Working in recruitment, we understand how daunting it can be for someone to apply and interview for a job, especially for young people leaving a school environment and entering the workforce for the first time. This can be particularly challenging for those who are neurodiverse or those from a different background who may require an adaptable approach to the additional barriers they may face. It was a privilege to be part of the day and it’s always fantastic to be able to volunteer at work, but volunteering our professional skills and expertise was something we were particularly proud to be able to do.” The workshop was a great success, and we captured the day on film to tell you all about it!

Thank you to our volunteers and everyone involved – it’s great to see how this careers support has made such a difference to young people in our community.

NFU Mutual’s employee volunteering programme and other responsible business activities
At NFU Mutual we have an employee volunteering programme that enables all our employees to take time off work to support a good cause in their community. Employee volunteering supports our responsible business ambitions to protect rural lives and livelihoods and create healthy communities for our people. Through the scheme, our employees can make a difference for a good cause and experience an enjoyable and rewarding teambuilding day with their colleagues; where they can learn something new, meet different people, and feel good about what they have achieved.
